The Story

The story starts with gold stitches in a piece of embroidery a 114 years old Bedouin grandma had offered me while travelling in Egypt. I loved it so much I decided to sew it onto my yoga mat for inspiration in my daily practice.

Since then this travelling mat arouses curiosity and interest among the yogis I meet around the world. Every time, I picture the tiny old lady with her shy toothless smile. Is she the one who pushed me to create and transform and source for and around the yoga? I like to think so.

As a yoga teacher who believes in the incomparable value of original products not affected by trends, I founded Attayoga, which means yoga with a soul, to support craftsmen and encourage fair trade. When each piece is handmade and spreads care and tenderness, it becomes timeless, it echoes integrity and “joie de vivre”. This would be my approach to fashion, feeling beyond the accessory the hours of work of a generous heart.

The brand gathers meaningful, beautiful and usable objects and local designers involved in their communities and inspired by nature and harmony.

At Attayoga we encourage you to celebrate your uniqueness and to remember: “It’s not where you take things from, it’s where you take them to” (J-L Godard).

Give our products a long happy life and practice yoga!
